An Overview of Urethritis

Urethritis is the word used to describe inflammation of the urethra commonly caused by an infection such as a bacteria or a virus. The main symptom of urethritis is pain and/or difficulty when urinating, and can be diagnosed by a swab made to the inside of the urethra and then examined under a microscope. This condition is treatable with oral antibiotics and depending on how the urethritis was caused, will determine the course of treatment.
