Vasovasostomy Overview
When a man decides he no longer wants to conceive children, he may opt for a procedure known as a vasectomy whereas the ends of the vas deferens are severed so sperm cannot enter the semen stream. If a man decides later to have this condition reversed, a vasovasostomy can be performed where the ends of the vas deferens can be repaired and reconnected thus restoring the flow of sperm. In most cases, a vasectomy reversal will be successful and the vas deferens reconnected; however, the likelihood of conception may ultimately be lowered due to the initial vasectomy procedure.
