Prostatalgia Overview
The term prostatalgia is a medical term used to describe pain in the prostate gland. The condition, which is benign and can affect a man of any age, is a problem that can be caused by a blockage, an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia), an inflamed prostate gland, impotence and/or urinary incontinence. Before a course of treatment can be prescribed, a physician must run tests specific to the prostate so that a diagnosis can be determined as to why prostate pain is occurring.
